Scientific symposium between the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and the SPE Organization

The Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering at the University of Technology, organized by the department’s students at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), held a two-day scientific symposium. The symposium covered advanced topics in reservoir and drilling engineering, as well as the latest technologies in well completion and petroleum data management.

The first day was presented by Engineer Abdul Muhaimin Abbas, an employee of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.

It included:

Fundamentals of reservoir and drilling engineering
Practical applications in reservoir engineering
Advanced techniques in drilling engineering
The second day was presented by Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed, an employee of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.

It included:

Optimizing well performance: completions, electrical submersible pumps (ESPs), and smart fields
Oil field data management
The symposium witnessed significant interaction from the attendees, as valuable insights were provided on the latest developments in the petroleum sector on the above topics, with distinguished expertise.
