A lecturer in the department obtains a PhD in petroleum engineering.

The department’s lecturer, Ms. Duaa Saleh Mahdi, obtained her PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Baghdad, College of Engineering, Department of Petroleum Engineering, for her thesis entitled:

Estimating In-situ Strength of Rock from Real-Time Drilling Data Using Conventional Regression Analysis and Machine Learning.

The examination committee consisted of distinguished professors:

Assistant Professor Dr. Samira Muhammad Hamdallah, Member

The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Ayad Abdul Halim Abdul Razzaq.

During her doctoral research period, the researcher published nine scientific papers, seven of which were published in international databases such as Clarivate and Scopus, and two in local Iraqi journals.

After the examination committee heard the researcher’s distinguished and scholarly defense of her thesis, the thesis was accepted with a grade of “Excellent.”
